Art Deco Etalage Reclame Mystery Clock Running Nicely
About the Item
A stunning clock design by Etalage Reclame. The clock dates to the early 1940’s or late 1930’s. It is mystery clock. It has two disks inside with hands affixed to the plates that rotate. There is an outside disc on front with the numbers stenciled on. There is a protective glass attached to the back. 4 plates in all held in place by the chrome frame. The synchron motor in the base moves the gears that rotate the two plates. The clock runs and it keeps good time. Marked on the base. The clock has some decal loss to the numbers and some rust, scratches and marks to the chrome, please see the detailed photos. The last photo shows an ad from a 1942 issue of Popular Mechanics featuring the clock. It’s is from the website of Roger Rusell, who has a wonderful descriptive section of these clocks.
