19th Century French Louis XV Hand Painted Faience Mantel Clock Signed HB Quimper
About the Item
Decorate a mantel or a shelf with this elegant and colorful antique clock. Crafted in Brittany France circa 1890, the ceramic clock stands on an attached base ending with scroll feet, over a bombe front with scalloped apron. The top is decorated with a carved draped child figure and embellished with a Breton woman medallion wearing traditional clothing; the time keeper is further embellished with shell and floral motifs throughout. The clock dial is marked Quimper and has a circular brass ring around the enamel face. The clock movement is in excellent working order and chimes on the hour and half hour. The faience clock on stand is in excellent condition with rich hand painted colors. Pendulum and winding key included.
