Unique Gothic Revival Gilt Bronze Table or Desk Clock w Rare Porcelain Plaques
About the Item
Wonderful clock for the collectors of truly stylish Gothic antiques, by W.H.Tooke, Paris.
Finding this unique (Germany made) Gothic table clock again felt like a blessing. The overall design is remarkable, but the combination of the craftsmanship of the bronze components and the hand crafted and hand painted Gothic porcelain plaques is what takes this clock to the next level. Whenever you find a piece that is this good then you can rest assure that there is a maker's mark. This late 1800s work of beauty was made and marked by the prolific Parisian clock maker W.H. Tooke, Sceur De .F.L.Hausburg A Paris (see signed movement image 20). The amazing and detailed, gilt bronze, Gothic details combined with the colorful and handpainted Saint images on the porcelain inserts is of a quality and beauty that will never fail to impress. No matter where you decide to have this antique on display, people will want to stop and look at the uniqueness and at the amazing workmanship. The original and perfect working, eight days clock mechanism runs smoothly with a very low-noise tic-toc and it strikes a silver colored bell on the whole and once on the half hours. The key for winding both the clock and striking mechanism also is included.
This museum quality and condition clock certainly is great value for money. Also, because perfect packing & worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 days are complimentary.
