An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver inkstand; an addition to our ornamental office silverware collection
This exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V sterling silver inkstand has a plain oval form.
The body of the inkstand is plain and unembellished, with an applied moulded border to the rim.
The surface of this antique inkstand incorporates four applied, hallmarked pen receivers/supports.
This antique 20th century silver inkstand is supported by four impressive, tiered circular feet.
The inkstand incorporates two ink bottle receivers, securing to the underside with hallmarked screw fitments.
The fine and impressive inkwell vessels are fitted with push fit hallmarked covers, each surmounted with an oval-shaped finial.
Each cover opens to allow access to the original, removable gilt metal liner.
Condition
This antique English inkstand in silver is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
The impressive 20th century silver inkstand has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.
Full British hallmarks struck to the surface of the inkstand, in addition to part hallmarks to the ink vessels, interior of each cover and each pen support are very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
