Antique & Large Black Forest Gun / Rifle Rack w. Hand Carved Deer Head Sculpture

About the Item

Large and impressive Black Forest rack for hunting guns, circa 1870-1890. If you are looking for the perfect antique to decorate one of the walls in your hunting room, home office or library then this unique gun rack could be flying your way soon. This very large rack for wall mounting is entirely hand-crafted and hand carved out of solid oak. The strong and integrated metal hook in the back (see image 12) makes it very easy to safely mount this large work of hunting art on your wall. The gilt bronze ornaments on either side are beautifully handcrafted, but what makes this piece really stand out is ofcourse the hunting trophy like deer sculpture on top. Have you also noticed the stunning, hand carved hunting horn around the deer's neck? In image 11 you can see how this one of a kind antique was hand-crafted with a technique that had been around since the middle ages, using wooden pen and hole connections. If you can already see this remarkable and sculptural antique on your wall with some of your favourite rifles on display then maybe you should be its next custodian. Our fair price even includes perfect packing (in a custom made crate) and also worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 days. Maximum height x width x depth: 76.3 x 35 x 15.5 inches. Height from the bottom of the rifle holders to the top of the wooden bracket that holds the rifle barrels: 44.3 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again). You can shop all our 1000+ listings by pushing the button that reads 'View All From Seller'.

Additions or alterations made to the original: We believe that the bracket holding the butts of your guns has at some point in time been lowered slightly. Maybe this was done by one of its former owners, because guns from a later date were longer than the earlier ones. Repaired: Minor professional repairs and on the back two horizontal oak 'planks' were placed for perfect and long lasting stability. Wear consistent with age and use.
