A fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver pepperette realistically modelled in the form of a game bird; an addition to our range of silver novelty items
This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver pepperette has been realistically modelled in the form of a game bird.
This impressive pepperette is embellished with chased decoration reproducing the details of the game bird’s plumage and features.
The pepperette retains the original fully hallmarked push fit cover/head which features pierced 'pepper' holes.
This impressive novelty sterling silver piece was crafted by the silversmiths Charles Henry Townley & John William Thomas of Thomas of New Bond Street.
Such original period pieces are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
Condition
This antique silver novelty pepper shaker is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the base of the pepperette and part hallmarks to the rim of the cover/head are all very clear.
