A beautiful and wonderfully executed Italian 19th century Neo-Classical st. white Carrara marble bust of young Madame Juliette Recamier. The bust is raised by a square base below the charming and extremely elegant Juliette. She is holding up her classic drape in front of her. Her beautiful face displays wonderful attention to detail. while her curly hair above is tied in an elegant updo, with a finely sculpted headband.
Jeanne Françoise Jullie Adélaïde Récamier, known as Juliette, was a French socialite, whose salon drew Parisians from the leading literary and political circles of the early 19th century.
