Small table planter in wood and tin with enameled decorations of flowers, palm leaves and a sarcophagus mask.
Egyptomania refers to the revival of European interest in ancient Egypt from 1787 (Volney's Voyage en Egypte et en Syrie), but especially from Bonaparte's Egyptian campaign of 1798 to 1801, initiated by Talleyrand.
