About the Item
This is a mid-century Scandinavian-modern, Art glass vase, attributed to the designer Tamara Aladin, for the maker Riihimaen / Riihimaki Lasi Oy of Finland.
The vase has a lovely cylindrical tapering form in a cased Amber-Topaz Yellow and clear glass color.
This is a Vintage piece and is fully marked to the base with a circular acid etched makers Riihimaki mark to the base, together with an engraved 1365 which is the vase type number.
We date this vase to circa 1960.

This paperweight is handmade with a Millefiori, ten spoke radial cane design. having Latticino Spokes. The predominant colours are red, green, blue and white colour combination gives excellent contrast producing a very distinctive weight. The pontil mark to the base has been ground down giving a somewhat matt finish to the ventral section. There are no makers markings on the base that we can see.
