Vintage Original West-German Ceramic Fat Lava 203/18 Vase from Scheurich, 1970s
About the Item
This vase 203-18 was produced in the 1970s in West Germany by the Scheurich. This vase was made of ceramics in the fat lava technique. Shiny purple red and expressive brown show the object a rare character. Scheurich always used white clay, the color of which is visible on the bottom edge of the vase. This piece is signed W.GERMANY and the number indicating the model and height of the vase. It also has an original label with the name of the company.
The Scheurich company was founded in 1928 by Scheuri cousins, but it was not until 1948 that it began producing home ceramics. They mainly produced vases and pots, but also ashtrays, candlesticks, cups, clock buffets, wall reliefs, etc. Interesting design and regular production made the company a huge success.
