About the Item
Ensemble de 2 assiettes humoristique sur le thème des jeux anciens, les dominos, par la manufacture française de Creil Montereau en 1890.
Sur l’assiette, nous voyons une femme en sabot, un balai à la main et sans l'autre un homme avec un parapluie à la main. Il est inscrit : « Le cousin de ma femme est-il chez lui ? Nous n’avons pas de ces gens là ici »
Sur la deuxième assiette, nous voyons une jeune femme en habit masculin avec un noeud orange face à une dame en tablier et sabot. Il est inscrit : « Malheureuse qu’as-tu fait de ton sesque! ». C'est de l'argot français du 19eme signifiant qu'as-tu fait de ton corps, la fille étant habillé comme un garçon.
La fabrique de Creil a été la première poterie française à utiliser l'impression par transfert sur la faïence, reproduisant des gravures de différents thèmes. L'entreprise est ensuite devenue "Faïenceries de Creil et Montereau" sous le nom de Lebeuf, Milliet & Co. (LM & Co.) jusqu'en 1876.
Parfait pour décorer une cuisine, salle à manger et salle de jeux.
