19th Century Angoulême French Faïence, Alfred Renoleau Hand Painted Oyster Plate
About the Item
A faïence Provençal oyster plate from the south western area of France called Angoulême, signed Alfred Renoleau, circa 1890–1900. Six-wells surround a central condiment well. The lobed edged earthenware plate shows hand painted floral sprays outlined in a bright Cobalt blue. Beautiful dimensional mold work.
Renoleau was born in Mansle France, 1854-1930. Hand signed on the verso.
