Vintage Pitcher by Roger Collet in Vallauris, France
About the Item
Stoneware pitcher made by Roger Collet in Vallauris (famous town for ceramic in the south of France) in the 60s and 70s. Roger Collet (1933-2008) was born in Switzerland and graduated from the ceramics school of Chavannes Rennens in 1952. He moved to Paris and worked with the Cloutier brothers. He then moved to Vallauris in 1956 and worked with many well-known ceramists, including Roger Capron for exemple. He opened his own workshop in 1966, producing utilitarian pieces, jugs, vases, then from 1983, influenced by Chinese celadon, he produced monochrome pieces of great purity. Dimension : H : 22cm / 8.661417 inch this typical french pitcher is in very good condition and you can see the signature under (please look attached files for details).
