18th Century Qianlong Chinese Porcelain Blue & White Plate with Flowers

About the Item

From the reign of Chinese Emperor Qianlong of the Qing dynasty, a lovely Chinese porcelain plate with a scalloped edge, with small hand-painted cobalt blue flowers that are likely plum blossoms on the central well, a continuous painted peacock motif on the cavetto, and a diaper border along the rim, China, circa 1760. One of the most beloved flowers in China, the plum blossom symbolizes perseverance and hope, as well as beauty, purity, and the transitoriness of life. Measurements: 9.5" diameter x 1" depth
