The pieces of this exceptional antique George VI sterling silver straight canteen of cutlery for six persons have been crafted in the Dog Nose pattern.
The surface of each handle is plain and unembellished.
This Sheffield silver flatware service consists of 50 pieces:

The fundamental pieces of this Sheffield made cutlery service have been crafted by Finnigans Ltd in 1937, apart from the table and dessert knives which are replacements.
This impressive antique flatware service is supplied in felt cutlery rolls; which not only protect the items in storage but significantly reduce tarnishing.
"Straight" means all the pieces are made by the same maker in the same year.
Predominately all antique silver canteens have replacement knives as the originals have not stood the test of time.

This antique silver canteen of cutlery is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent presentation condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each piece are all very clear.

There is no more than expected wear to any of the pieces and all hallmarks are clear and legible. All the spoons have good bowls with no misshaping or wear to the tips. Fork tines show some wear, more so to the dessert forks. Some of the pieces are crested with a lion rampant and some are monogrammed.
