Baty Serving Dish: a Practical Dish for Sauces or Objects in .925 Silver
About the Item
The baty dish is a simple, shallow, sterling silver dish that is a superb addition to any table. Its versatility can be attributed to its sleek design. Crafted from sterling silver, this piece is cast in New York, then expertly hand-finished by Heath Wagoner of HW. Studio in his Dumbo studio, making each piece unique. The Baty dish is then work hardened on a stake and brought to a high polish.
The baty dish can dress up any table whether it be a full place setting for each guest, or a simple addition to dressing up any middle-of-the-week takeout. It functions perfectly as a dipping dish for sauces, such as soy sauce or zhug. Off the table, it can be the protective catchall for small trinkets such as earrings, a signet ring, or that sentimental pendant.
Pronounced "bAt-ee," the dish is lovingly named after one of Heath's close friends for whom the original was created.
HW. Studio's work is meant to re-invigorate modern dining while employing jewelry techniques and craft to create objects that are jewelry for dining and for the table.

HW. Studio
HW. Studio is the creation of silversmith and jewelry designer Heath Wagoner. Crafted by hand in his Brooklyn, NY studio each piece is made using traditional jewelry techniques. Heath's collection is compromised of brass and silver flatware, objects, and the occasional piece of jewelry. The flatware is comprised of modern pieces whose form and function are the result of historical research and applied industrial design. The objects are often inspired by food waste such as Heath's sardine tins. Heath's jewelry is inspired by food and the sea often mimicking containers, utensils, or fare and incorporating precious materials such as gold and pearls. Blurring the lines between jewelry and tableware, Heath's work is meant to be worn or used during dining.
