About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique George V English sterling silver owl mustard pot; an addition to our collectable silverware collection. This exceptional antique George V sterling silver mustard pot has been realistically modelled in the form of an owl/owlet. This impressive antique silver owl mustard pot is embellished with embossed decoration reproducing the details of the bird's plumage and anatomical features. This fine mustard pot retains the original hallmarked flush hinged cover/head, further ornamented with bead eyes; the flush hinge indicates the high quality of the piece. The cover opens to reveal a gilded interior. The piece is fitted with a replica of the original spoon, crafted by London silversmith Richard Comyns of William Comyns & Sons Ltd in 1961.
