About the Item
Excellent original Viennese Art Nouveau centerpiece:
Two-tiered, silver table étagère on a large, domed stand richly decorated with volutes and panels on four rocaille feet, baluster-shaped shaft, crowned by a fully sculpted, winged putto on a plinth, holding up a hoop decorated with a flower garland and bow serving as a handle, round glass plates in two sizes screwed in between the sections, with finely cut volute and feather leaf decoration.
Hallmarks:
Diana head - Viennese official hallmark 1872 - 1922 for 800 silver
'W&C' in rectangle - master's sign of WÜRBEL & CZOKALLY
Silver goods factory 1860/62 - 1922, Participation in exhibitions in the arts and crafts, collaboration with well-known Austrian artists.
