Pierre Forssell 50 Brass Candleholders Produced in Skultuna Sweden, 1970s
About the Item
This is a large set of 50 same candleholders designed by Pierre Forssell in the late 60's at the Skultuna studio were he was working with his assistant. Simple, minimal and elegant at the same time. There is many variant and combinations on how to use them on a table or a buffet. They can be all tight together or dispatched randomly. Short or high candles are very nice, also different heights is interesting.
Pierre Oskar Paul Forssell, born 1925 in Stockholm, died 2004, was a Swedish designer, craftsman and silversmith.
Forssell worked for Gense 1952–1964 where he designed the Piruett swivel fork (introduced 1955 on the H55, launched 1959) and the Spectra cutlery range (1961). He also carried out work for Skultuna Messingsbruk between the years 1955 and 1986, for example the wall sconces Pendel and Reflex. He also designed sacred art in brass, such as crosses and candlesticks, for several church rooms.
