George III period Dressing Mirror in Mahogany & Gilt, c. 1790

About the Item

A good George III period Table-top mirror, dating from the fourth quarter of the 1700s, and English in origin. The body with a figured Mahogany exterior and gilt accents. The original mirror plate bordered by a gilt border with serpentine form, surmounted by a pierced crest in the Chippendale rococo taste. The mirror supported by two angled pylons, atop a platform base on ogee bracket feet, containing three sliding drawers in bombe form.

    An elegant and well-preserved Mahogany Dumbwaiter, with three tiers of serving space, and down-swept legs. Dating from the early George III period, and English in Origin. The three tiers all with moulded edges and richly-coloured mahogany, and the lower two levels freely rotating around the stem. The central column in solid mahogany, with spiral-fluted and moulded designs throughout, and resting atop a tripodal base with graceful down-swept legs ending in spade feet on castors.
