American Aesthetic Movement Birds Eye Maple Faux Bamboo Bed

About the Item

Chinese and Japanese bamboo style furniture reached the height of popularity after the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition. As the Aesthetic movement intensified so did the demand for Asian inspired decorative arts. R. J. Horner and Company advertised faux bamboo furniture as most appropriate for the dining rooms, and bedrooms of country houses.
