Early Sterling Silver Pendant William Spratling
About the Item
A lovely necklace pendant in 980 sterling silver from Taxco, Mexico. Designed and made by the studio of William Spratling, an American designer and entrepreneur who established his silver studio in Taxco in the 1930s. The cross design of this pedant is clearly inspired by the pattern of the colonial Mexican, a signature design philosophy of the studio. It was hallmarked on the back three ways, dating the piece to 1933-1938, the very early period of the Spratling history. A lovely early piece for Spartling collectors.
