Hand-Carved Miniature Temple Model, Early 20th Century
About the Item
A hand-crafted miniature Buddhist temple in wood, polychromed in gold and red, with finely carved details. Burma (Myanmar), early 20th Century.
The model consists of six detachable pieces, each one of solid and heavy wood, finely carved to resemble tiles on a roof., with miniature finials. The pieces stack precisely on top of each other to form the pagoda, with the traditional stupa finial on top.
The total weight of this model temple is around 20 lbs of solid wood.
It measures a total of 24 inches high, 12.25 inches wide and 13.25 inches deep.
