Kazimir Screen by Colé, Abstract Pattern Type B, Decor Divider Inspired to Art
About the Item
Masterfully handcrafted in Italy, Kazimir is not only a perfect divider for a Minimalist or Classic rooms, but also a symbolic bridge, linking design to art, functionality to decoration. In fact the shapes of this screen, part of a collection composed by three single elements (Type A, Type B and Type C), are freely inspired on the figurative abstract works by the renowned painter Malevich, a Pioneer of the geometric abstractionism of 20th century Russian avant-garde. The abstract geometric pattern in red, green, white and black recalls the renewed painting "Torso". The coat is removable and you can have the same shape dressed with a floral pattern, a detail taken from of a painting preserved in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
Dutch designer Julia Dosza, was inspired by the famous painter’s belief that the object has meaning when expressed and filled with color. In the same way the meaning of Kazimir changes according with the dress you put on it.
It is composed of two rounded wooden panels, upholstered and coated with jersey. The panels are connected by a semi-oval "rusted corten" steel base, finished with natural wax, and two magnets covered by a brass ring.

Cole Italia
“We love objects which own deep roots, excellent quality, and a strong evocative power”. Colé is a young Italian design brand, with a high-end production 100% made in Italy. Born from the experience of Matteo De Ponti, architect, who grew up in a historic Milanese design family, and the artistic sensibility of Laura Macagno, degree in Economics and passionate of art and design.
Our mission is to create design icons, suitable for furnishing the homes of sophisticated and international clients. Our expressive research is inspired by the Scandinavian design, the Bauhaus, the Italian architects of the '50s as well as ethnic handcraft, houses of famous writers of the XX century, suspended between present, past and future; the artists who wrote the code of modernity, as Mondrian, Sonia Delaunay, Moholy Nagy, Brancusi and the graphic genius of Escher. We love trips to far lands, starting from Argentina, Laura's birthplace, where our dream started. From there comes the name Colé, tied to a common memory: an element of color which makes us smile just thinking about it.
