About the Item
Franco Campo and Carlo Graffi were Italian architects and designers known for their contributions to the modernist design movement. They met whilst studying architecture at the Politecnico di Torino under tutorship of renowned designer Carlo Mollino. They built a strong relationship with Mollino, which led to many design collaborations. They were active in the mid-20th century and were particularly influential in the fields of furniture and interior design.
Campo and Graffi collaborated on various projects, creating pieces that reflected the clean lines and functional aesthetics characteristic of modernist design. Their work often incorporated a combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern materials, contributing to the overall evolution of design during their era.
In 1956 Campo and Graffi founded AtelierHome, an initiative founded by the desire to manufacture well-made design for the home, affordable for all.
The stand is constructed from solid iron rods that have been bent to produce sculptural graphic lines and curves. The stand allows for eight coats and eight hats to be hung from, whilst the concrete gray tray provides umbrella storage. The piece carries signs of age and use over time but in overall pristine condition for a collectible of the period.
