Immaculate 1930's Persian Abadeh, Tribal Style Rug 3' 6" x 5' Just north of the Shiraz lies the city of Abadeh. This ancient city was once home to 100's of different rug weaving tribes. For thousands of years nomads have inhabited this area, including the legendary rug weaving tribe the Qashqais. It's because this area is so ancient and so rich in tribal heritage, Abadeh is often accredited with the origination of rug weaving. Known for their whimsical and intricate geometric designs, these pieces are easily recognizable. With a combination of rich heritage and unique designs, Abadeh rugs are highly sought after by collectors. Abadehs feature a pile comprised entirely of fine Persian wool tightly woven on to a sturdy cotton foundation. The quality of their craftsmanship and materials make these rugs incredibly durable. The quality of these rugs allow them to handle wear well, so they're often woven as mats and runners for entry ways and hallways. This gorgeous little rug is a wonder to behold. It's gem like radiance, intricate geometric design, and deep colors will absolutely entrance you. Showcasing their craftmanship this rug was made to perfection, no detail is lost due to the weavers excellent choice in colors. The colors used in this piece are not only unique, but absolutely gorgeous. The red in this rug is so rusty that it is nearly brown and the deep navy is so radiant it almost looks like a sparkling sapphire. Touches of cream help break up and balance these gorgeous tones. Because Abadehs usually feature more vibrant, primary colors, this piece is incredibly unique in design and potentially one of a kind. Regardless of being almost 100 years of age, this piece is in perfect condition and absolutely untouched by age. It has been well cared for and preserved, for antique rug standards it is as close as being flawless as possible. This piece is truly cherished and irreplaceable.
