Why Knot Bench Long
About the Item
This bench has a very unique design, it's the result of many years of research on the technique of bent lamination. It's my best selling piece since a few years now, I've made several ones with different woods and sizes and my customers loves it! It is fully usable, it can support around 400 lbs.

Kino Guerin
My works draws its source from my childhood in the countryside, which I spent in the Saguenay region of Quebec. My parents were artisans, my mother weaved and my father worked wood. I have always found it rewarding to make things with my own hands, especially in wood. It was therefore natural that I went to study at the art cabinetmaking school in Montreal. As soon as I left school in 1995 I started my own business.
Subsequently, I developed my own aesthetic by setting myself a challenge which became my leitmotif. From now on I will make furniture with a single piece of wood. No added legs, crosspieces or supports. To achieve this I use the lamination molding technique using a vacuum press.
For more than 25 years I have been refining this aesthetic and this technique, which has allowed me to exhibit in several international exhibitions and fairs in the United States, France and Italy. My pieces are found in several Canadian embassies: in the United Kingdom, Algeria, Ethiopia, Lebanon and in Chile.
My creations are in the collections of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Musée de la Civilization du Québec.
I have been the recipient of several awards and scholarships, notably from the Canada and Quebec arts councils.
Several international magazines have been interested in my works, such as Dwell magazine, The Furniture & Cabinetmaking Magazine from the United Kingdom. My Crazy table Carpet was the star of an Etsy Ad , which ran in the US and UK.
wood finishes: walnut, cherry, smoked oak, grey veneer, rustic bird's eye maple, bird's eye ash, grey oiled ash, black lacquer, white Oak rift cut.
