Baleri Italia Marì Chair in Mauve by Luigi Baroli

About the Item

Marì ia a fabric-covered seat that formally conveys its nature chair while offering the comfort of a small armchair. A double project that achieves comfort through space and the elasticity of the internal structure and that juxtaposes the transparency of space to the material richness of the upholstered elements. Elegance and visual lightness: full volumes become empty as a smart dress to wear. Steel frame with flexible backrest in rigid polyurethane on a harmonic-steel skeleton. Seat in cold-cured CFC-free polyurethane foam, cover in fabric. Available with four legs in die-cast aluminum painted with epoxy powders in semi-glossy RAL 7021. Born near Milan in 1951, after a degree in architecture at Politecnico he has worked mainly in the field of interior design, although jewellery design was another major interest. In 1994 he won the Compasso d’Oro award for Cartoons screen, produced by Baleri Italia in 1992. He has been a collaborator of the company from 1990 to 2004, in charge of the Art Direction of the showroom in Milan and the settings for the collection in occasion of events both in Italy and abroad. One of his latest projects for Baleri Italia, the innovative Marì chair and armchair, has become one of the company’s bestsellers.

Cartoons creates a spatial division that is baroque and minimalist at the same time. The idea of the screen is a sublime mystification: a wall that is not a wall. Corrugated cardboard, a humble but reliable material, is presented in a very refined technology. Two sheets of cardboard, positioned side by side, ensure the maximum ease in rolling and unrolling the screen and are couplet to a free-standing structure. Screen with free-standing structure in corrugated cardboard extracted from pure cellulose, available in two configurations, height 170 cm with 40÷400 cm extension or height 150 cm with 40÷300 cm extension. Upper and lower edge in technopolymer in matt black. Terminal stiffening components in brushed diecast aluminium. Born near Milan in 1951, after a degree in architecture at Politecnico he has worked mainly in the field of interior design, although jewellery design was another major interest.
