About the Item
The Bluff side chair is an homage to the foothills surrounding Luft Tanaka's hometown of Kasugai, Japan. Poetic and architectural; planar yet curvy, the Bluff Side Chairs are sculptural accents that you can sit on. Each chair is handcrafted and fabricated by Amish woodworkers in Pennsylvania, USA.
The asymmetric design works well on it's own as a single chair as well as a pair for a larger space. An ideal accent piece for foyers, hallways and living rooms.
Shown in American White Oak. Custom wood types and finishes available upon request.
Bluff Side Chair Right has the armrest on the right side of the chair.

Luft Tanaka Studio
Luft Tanaka Studio specializes in creating original art objects, furniture, and lighting at the intersection of design, technology, and craft. Originally from Kasugai, Japan, Luft moved to New York City in 2008 and studied Product Design at Parsons School of Design. Luft utilizes his intuitive understanding of materials and processes, to meticulously craft unique and covetable pieces of art. The Kawa Series, which he produces by casting liquid porcelain into sewn leather molds, is a result of years of experimentation and invention of a production method completely unique to Luft Tanaka Studio.
