About the Item
Circa 1780 George III period bureau bookcase, English. Mahogany with Gothic arched glazing (crack in one lower pane). The bookcase is divided with adjustable shelves on each side. Dentil molded crown (some "teeth" restored). Leather (replaced in the early 20th century) writing surface. The interior features 10 drawers & 4 pigeon holes flanking a prospect door. Bracket feet. While associated, it is all of the period.
42.5" w. at feet (41" at body), 19.5" d. plus fall, 86 3/8" h.
