Rare Corner Cabinet by Henning Kjærnulf in White Oak, Green Bubble Glass & Tile

About the Item

Traditional Craftsman details take center stage in this fabulous and rare corner cabinet by Henning Kjærnulf; from the front door - adorned with convex stained glass panels of rich bottle green (harkening back to Edwardian bubble glass) - to the convenient drop-down surface, inset with hand-painted ceramic tiles (a nod to Delft porcelain). A sculpted bracket base and chamfered panel molding complete the look, making this a quintessentially Danish Brutalist piece. Key included. This cabinet is signed with the original label from EG Kvalitetsmøbel. Henning Kjærnulf is among the exalted few designers to possess a voice so singular and a body of work so prolific as to be credited with the invention of an entire design style. Kjærnulf's iconic "Danish Brutalist" furniture combines elements from the Arts & Crafts, Rococo, and Jacobean Movements with Modernist sculptural details and a Scandinavian palette of natural blonde woods to create a look that is both entirely unique and instantly recognizable.
