McIntosh Sideboard (Eden Model)
About the Item
Fascinating creation of Tom Robertson, the Scottish firm A.H. McIntosh manufactured in the early ’70s under the name Eden.
The structure is in high-quality laminated teak wood.
The front features three drawers (the upper one with compartments for cutlery) and a double door that reveals two replicated individual modules (except for the fixed shelf, which has a different depth).
Finally, it is worth highlighting the stylised shapes of its handles and the frame of turned legs, joined by a thin crossbar, which raises the structure and cherries to give an outstanding score to this captivating design.

Tom Robertson
Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on July 19, 1911, Thomas Robertson was known for his stylized portraits in the 1930s. His work evolved into non-objective imagery in the 1940s. Robertson studied serigraphy in New Orleans in the 1930s and began to concentrate on printmaking around the 1940s. Robertson became an advocate of prints as affordable original works of art and presented lectures demonstrating the silkscreen technique. Robertson lived the remainder of his life in the small town of Albion in Northern California, where he died on May 25, 1976.
