Midcentury Sideboard in Walnut, Sweden, circa 1940
About the Item
A beautiful and well made example of the Nordic sensibility- form and function working together. Featuring three internal compartments, one on each side and a generous center compartment for larger items. Each compartment features two adjustable height shelves; the center compartment is enclosed by a pair of locking doors. There are also three drawers that slide smoothly and are lockable with the same key as the upper doors. All the facing surfaces are adorned with walnut veneers that have been book matched and applied in a tiled pattern.
Very functional and sturdy piece that can suit many uses. Previous owners felt liners for silver storage remain, however can be removed easily.
Original hardware and locks work smoothly, but some surface defects exist on the veneer.
