Jan Vlug
Jan Vlug was a Dutch art historian who studied art history in London before joining the Royal Netherlands Army. Vlug served as Dutch Cultural Intelligence Officer for the Art Looting Investigation Unit (ALIU) of the U.S. Office of Strategic Services (OSS). Responsible for uncovering information regarding Nazi looting, the ALIU was formed in 1944 to function as the intelligence component of the MFAA.
Established in 2006, Morentz has a team of approximately 55 restorers, upholsterers, interior advisers and art historians, making it a gallery, workshop and upholstery studio, all in one. Every day, a carefully selected array of 20th-century furniture arrives from all over the world at the firm’s warehouse, where the team thoroughly examines each piece to determine what, if any, work needs to be done. Whether that means new upholstery or a complete restoration, Morentz's aim is always to honor the designer’s intention while fulfilling the wishes of the client. The team is up to any challenge, from restoring a single piece to its original glory to furnishing a large-scale hotel project.

- Berlino Dining Table in Matt WoodBy Casa CasatiLocated in Milan, MIA large 3-meter dining table with wood veneered top and brass base. A family of tables inspired by the Modern Movement, in particular the formal rigour of Mies van der Rohe and the free compositions of Gerrit T. Rietveld, in the layout of the right-angled thin metal blades which make up the monumental base. The tabletop, characterized by its chamfered edge detail which lightens even the largest sizes, is available at this price in three wood veneers (eucaliptus frisé, walnut and mahogany). The base is available in two bronze tones, which reflect and glow because of the recessed underside panel finished in our signature Casa Casati orange. The Berlino table...Category
