The rectangular top with rounded drop leaves, above two frieze drawers and two dummy drawers to the reverse, raised on a faux-rosewood grain painted ring-turned standard continuing to four hipped down-scrolling legs ending in leaf-cast casters.

- Condition:Repaired: Typical repairs to brass inlay, split to top and to base of standard and minor veneer repairs. Wear consistent with age and use. Very good antique condition with slight warping of one drop leaf and minor lifting of some brass inlay.

Opened, 36in. high and 49in. wide. Rooms organized during the Regency period as libraries often had floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. The upper shelves were difficult to reach, so movable library stairs were invaluable.
