About the Item
Aftermath is a series of digital collages, where landscape compositions represent natural disasters conformed by accumulations of trademark logos extracted from internet. These symbols corroborate the existence of markets and thus consumptions.
Internet generates the possibility within the current computing interfaces of downloading informations in order to rearrange and modify them. By grouping these logotypes in thematic groups their communicational nature is distorted and they become part of herds, flocks, housing complexes, domestic objects and other groups without modifying their original form.
In this compulsive act of appropriation a portion of the transnational scale of the economic, political and social disaster which actually conditions us is shown. The entropic and not necessarily apocalyptic nature of this images speaks of processes whose size scale we frequently lose.
