Decorative and contemporary art, Watercolor on paper by María García

About the Item

The drawing is the initial structure that shapes most of María's investigations. It is the approximation tool that allows you to establish a link with languages from other disciplines such as archaeology, geology, or anatomy, and with artisanal processes such as ceramics or textiles. Her recent proposals regarding the construction of the landscape and the appropriation of the territory allow her to delve into a narrative of the relationship that arises between nomadism and home, which ultimately involve a revision of the origin. He has participated in different cultural projects and exhibited individually and collectively in cities such as Hong Kong, Seoul, Mexico, Madrid, Valencia, Zurich and Jakarta. She has obtained scholarships and support for the production of projects, the most recent of which include the Basu Foundation residency (Calcutta, India, 2018) and the DKV Collection acquisition award (Drawing Room, Madrid, 2017).
