Antique Work Board Used by Japanese Craftsmen/1868-1920/Wabi-Sabi Wall Painting
About the Item
If you want something special, we recommend purchasing items selected by Brood.
We sell carefully selected old Japanese items.
I've seen tens of thousands of items so far.
Based on that experience, only selected items are posted here.
We are able to do this because of our long experience.
There may be items on the 1stdibs site that look and feel the same, but the items selected by Brood are unique.
I received a very nice item.
This time, we would like to introduce a working board used by Japanese craftsmen.
I don't know how it is used in detail, but this round ring is a burnt mark. In other words, it seems that some kind of heated metal was placed on top of this.
It is thought to be a plate for working on this plate or for cooling the metal.
There were several other boards like this, but this one was the most beautiful one.
It looks like an abstract painting when hung on the wall.
There are cracks in the wood, but nothing like splitting in two.
The material is cedar, so the weight is 1.4 kg.
Things like this are becoming rarer and rarer in Japan.
We believe that it is our mission to convey the charm of such old things and leave them behind.
This kind of board is rarely available, so if you think it's good, we recommend you buy it!
