"Three Doves, " Art Deco Painting with Surrealistic Edge by Hentschel
About the Item
A wonderful example of Art Deco painting by William Hentschel, this piece also reflects the influence of Surrealism in the stylized arch that seems to be made of fabric, and the platform for the doves, which seems like a rock outcropping in the American Southwest. Hentschel was one of Rookwood Pottery's most celebrated artisans, decorating many of its finest vases in his distinctive Art Deco manner. Hentschel also made a number of paintings in the 1930s. (Dimensions include matte and frame).
