1967 Simon & Garfunkel - Lincoln Center Original Vintage Poster

About the Item

Beautiful lithographic poster created in 1967 to promote Simon & Garfunkel's show at Philharmonic Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City. The concert was held on January 22 1967 at 8:30pm and came just after the release of the legendary folk duo's album "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme" and just over a year after the iconic "Sound of Silence". With the duo at the height of their powers, the great graphic designer and fellow New Yorker Milton Glaser was enlisted to create the artwork for the gig. Featuring his trademark "Baby Fat" lettering, the artist depicts the duo in green and blue 3D on platforms. The rare & beautiful piece is in mint condition with vibrant colour.

Considered the quintessential and definitive Bond film, the third instalment in EON Productions' James Bond series set the template for many of the subsequent films, with its tongue in cheek humour, extensive use of gadgets and technology and multiple foreign locations. The first Bond blockbuster, 1964s 'Goldfinger' was also the first Bond film to utilise a standalone pre-credits sequence, the first to employ a pop star to sing the theme song and the first to win an Academy Award. The plot saw 007 uncover a plot to contaminate the United States gold reserve at Fort Knox while investigating the smuggling activities of powerful gold magnate Auric Goldfinger. This stunning poster designed by prolific Swedish...
