Old Prints - Hazel Grouse & Common Moorhen
About the Item
Wilhelm and Ferdinand von Wright belonged to a Swedish-Finnish noble family in the 17th century. Together with their brother Magnus von Wright these ornithologists, scientists, nature illustrators and artists became known for their studies of nature and especially their massive illustrative work Svenska Foglar (“Swedish birds”) in August 1828. The work was ready by 1838 and contains 178 lithographs. Our collection of these fantastic original prints date back to 1930’s.
Hazel Grouse is a shy bird who likes the Nordic pine forests and inland lakes. The Common Moorhen, also known as the waterhen lives in well-vegetated areas around the Nordics. Place them on top of you bedside table or as a solitary in your sitting room.
