This is a signed color photolithograph by Cecil Aldin, depicting the English golf course Royal North Devon at Westward Ho!. The photolithograph depicts golfers on the course’s sixth green. Royal North Devon at Westward Ho! can rightly claim to be the cradle of English golf. Founded in 1864, it is the oldest golf course in the country. Cecil Aldin (1870 - 1935) was a prolific painter. Not only did he paint the golfing scenes, he also painted his dogs and scenes of hunting and racing.
