Vintage Signed Monet Rhodium Plated Laurels Bracelet, 1956 Ad Piece
About the Item
Rhodium plated laurels bracelet with fold over clasp and security chain. Marked "Monet" on both the back of the clasp and a hang tag. Measures: 7 1/8 inches long by 5/8 inches wide. Condition: Very good; minor wear to back. Also, there is a jump ring that I'm not sure what it's supposed to attach to but looks original. A goldtone version of this bracelet along with matching necklace (also available for sale in rhodium plate) is featured in a 1956 advertisement.
Early Monet jewelry was produced in the United States and was not mass produced. During the 1960s and 1970s there was more demand than supply, because the company believed in quality over quantity. Monet's jewelry was of such a high caliber that during the 1980s they produced haute couture jewelry for Yves Saint Laurent. Jewelry featured in Monet advertisements are highly collectable.
