Joseph Kraham
Starry Night - Original Lego Creation

About the Item

Homage to Vincent Van Gogh. Made completely of legos. About the Artist: Joseph Kraham is an "engineering artist". He combines thousands of Lego pieces, acrylic lacquer paint, and technology to create amazing works of art. In fact, he uses approximately 275 colors of acrylic lacquer vs the ~25 standard Lego colors. "I've used over 1.5 million pieces in my artwork and have created artwork since 2014. My approach to my artwork uses a familiar medium but with a twist of painting each Lego piece. I had a provisional patent for "Acrylic Lacquer applied to ABS plastic for artwork" and appeared on multiple tv shows and magazines. I started my artwork after a dog passed away, built a tribute piece that gained media attention, quickly grew, and clients started contacting me for commissions." Kraham is exhibited and collected worldwide.

  • Sculpture: 'Pair of Chopines'
By Kelly Bugden + Van Wifvat
    Located in New York, NY
The artistic collaboration of Kelly Bugden + Van Wifvat has produced a thought-provoking body of sculptures, paintings, and constructions. Nature, childhood memories, and everyday archetypes take shape in unexpected combinations of materials. The works emerged as the tactile and visual senses channeled the ritualistic power and materiality of selected artifacts. The resulting objects exist in a space between what they were originally and what they could become. A wheel, for example, is distorted as if seen through a prism. Their collaboration grew out of years of shaping materials into one-of-a-kind objects. Intuitively, the process of creating with their hands took an inward turn. Prism is a travelogue through memories and dreams, yielding abstract forms that capture moments of transformation. Van Wifvat grew up with eight siblings and studied sculpture and environmental design in Minneapolis at MCAD. In 1979, he opened a storefront art gallery to promote the work of local artists. The space featured printed materials—art books, periodicals, fanzines, and postcard’s. Wifvat moved to New York in 1983 to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons. In 1987, he co-founded Van Gregory & Norton design studio, specializing in convex mirrors and curtain hardware...

  • Large Animal Wall Sculpture: 'Wormhole'
    By Gin Stone

'I am a multidisciplinary artist with a focus on ecofeminism using fiber and mixed media constructions. My materials include hand-dyed commercially fished line and ghost gear, recycled and antique textiles, fabric printed with cyanotype emulsions and found objects. I change the existing surface of recognizable animals by creating a veneer of unexpected color and imagery. This forces the viewer to consider the shape more carefully by visually exploring its new topography. The creation process can be likened to painting with fiber (that has been tinted with hand-mixed dyes) on a three-dimensional canvas. Intense work is spent creating the eyes and ears to convey the emotion of each animal. I look to the work of Joan Mitchell and The Quilters of Gee’s Bend as inspiration for pattern and color, as well as charts, iconography, and satellite imaging.' -Gin Stone...
