His youth was marked by extreme poverty. Lersy studied art and music at the École des Arts Apppliqués. He was a painter, lithographer and musician-composer He belongs to the École de Paris and was a member in the movement of the Young Painting. By 1946, when he first exhibited in Paris, Lersy became one of the founders of the School of Paris’ New Graphic School.
