About the Item
Artist Comments
Simple geometric shapes and colors take command in this abstract piece by artist Shyun Song. Defining her roots, she stacks the letters of her parents' family names at the bottom of the composition. The lively orange background expresses gratitude, while the white grid signifies an eternal bond.
About the Artist
Artist Shyun Song brings her unique perspective on life and human experiences to her creations, using shapes, lines, and color to illustrate abstract concepts and elements of psychology. "I let my intuition dictate a geometric composition by applying my symbolic logic," says Shyun. Her artistic journey has evolved from capturing emotions to exploring imagined naturescapes and conceptual paintings that delve into the inner lives of people. In her minimalistic New York studio, Shyun listens to her favorite British comedy podcasts while immersing herself in the creative process. In her spare time, she indulges in binge-watching European television series, reading books, and staying updated on daily world news.

- Blue Chip Coffee, Abstract Oil PaintingBy Rachel SrinivasanLocated in San Francisco, CA
Artist Comments
Part of artist Rachel Srinivasan's signature cubist coffee series. For these pieces, she studies her extensive collection of cafetieres that she keeps in her studio. The works are both about celebrating her love of coffee, and depicting light, pattern, and repetition as though it were set to music.About the Artist
For Rachel Srinivasan, an idea is worth putting on a canvas only if it still feels exciting after a few days. Rachel enjoys mulling the idea over in her mind for some time before creating an artwork. She hopes viewers will engage with her work and wonder about the subject matter, shapes and colors. "My current work is all about creating a connection between the person on the canvas with the viewer," she explains. She prefers large paintings and sometimes even makes her own canvases. She currently lives in Arizona and enjoys baking rhubarb pies, reading, running and going to art museums.Words that describe this painting: coffee, caffeine, cubism, espresso, still life, repetition, cubist, Picasso, Georges Braque, abstract, cuisine, non-representational, modern , oil painting, grey
