Destiny of a Young Man

2022

About the Item

Destiny of a Young Man is an original painting by John Ayobamidele. John created Destiny of a Young Man Acrylic on a 29.5W by 41.3H inches primed canvas. Destiny of a Young Man depicts the Day arrived, and the wheel gradually gained momentum and led human Hearts towards knowledge, something the Hearts had known for a long time. The man was not yet able to comprehend the Wisdom of his own Heart. He had not actually guessed that the Heart was capable of knowing and all the while, the still, small Voice, which imparted the wise counsel of Life, was practically inaudible to the insensitive human ear. The intellect was not able to perceive what the Heart knew, for it was subject to decay. The Heart woven out of Light belonged to Life. The Heart’s secret was that it could not live without Love. Only Love’s energizing currents could wind the hidden main spring therein, the spring that allowed the Wheel of Life to rotate. The Heart without Love was dying away, losing its life force. There was nothing for him to fear once the darkness desired such hearts, Evil was amassing legions of venomous thoughts, capable of poisoning the whole Joy of his heart with their sinister stench. Joy was the lampion oil that made the Flame of Love glows brightly. The dark host of the evil thoughts was successful, depriving the little fire of the nourishment it needed. The Sun wished to apply the full force of his energizing currents to restore her soul to Life. He did not blame himself for having lost the Gift (her) but rather was depressed about the evil world and the ability to love. For the Star himself, the most important thing was Love, so that the Fire-breathing Warmth of his Heart would be enough for all. But to that end, it was necessary to find such a heart capable of accepting the mighty Warmth of Heaven, unafraid of being burnt and staying alive in the Fire-breathing Flame of Love. This was something only the man could wish for. So, day by day, the Sun circled the Earth in search of her. This Painting is part of the 'self confidence' series. The artist believes self-confidence is the breeze that carries us beyond the limitations of doubt, unveiling the brilliance of our true potential. He worked on bold and solitary figures in this series because He believed every human has a unique superpower (that which lies within them). In "Arc of Glory", the artist masterfully encapsulates the essence of his "Self Confidence" series, where he delicately weaves together themes of elegance, strength, and introspection. The artwork is not only an aesthetic delight but a profound introspection into the core of human existence, evoking a profound resonance with all who lay their eyes upon it. Girl from Gombe is an original painting by Abifola Olorunlana. Olorunlana created Girl from Gombe with Acrylic on a 36W by 48H inches primed canvas. The Girl from Gombe is a two-portrait series about a young girl from Gombe who is trying to find balance in her personal life in a society that does not really care much about the mental health of young people. In each portrait, her bodily pose, complemented with fresh-looking green plants and every other element in the painting tells a story about all the good and bad choices that have led her to where she is; the influence of her academics, family, religion, and the friends she surrounds herself with. While she's fighting her insecurities, and facing a dilemma in her career choice, she seems to persevere in living. Whenever I look at my subject and listen to her talk, all I see is a beautiful girl who has fallen prey to what we all refer to as life: Abifola Olorunlana decided to narrate with paint on canvas as a reminder that no matter what the situation is, as long as we are alive our lives can always get better.
