Milton Gershgoren
The following biography is based on information sent by Estelle Gershgoren Novak, daughter of the artist:
Milton Gershgoren was born in Russia in 1909 and emigrated to the United
States in 1922. After graduating from high school in Detroit, Michigan, he
received a scholarship to attend the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
He also studied at Jepson Art Institute, Kahn Art Institute, and Otis Art
Institute.
He married Beatrice Rotman and started a family. In 1943 he moved with his family to Los Angeles where he lived until his death in 1989. After serving in the United States Army as an artist designing tank manuals, he continued painting and exhibiting his work.
