About the Item

Sudipta Kundu - Ganesha Acrylic on Canvas, 36 x 24 inches , rolled and shipped . For framed delivery contact us for the additional costs From Kolkata, West Bengal, INDIA. Paintings are realisic in nature. Love to paint in all mediums - Acrylic, Oil, Charcoal, Water Colour on Paper or in Canvas. He really wish to draw and paint landscapes in any medium either on paper or on canvas. Again he have a desire to draw and paint different people, their expressions, their lives, their works, merged with beautiful landscapes, Cityscapes. For example, farmers working in the fields in a gloomy rainy day, where the sky is black. The farmers working in the fields will blend and fade out with the monsoon sky in background. This idea of blending the lives of different people with nature scapes or City scapes reoccur again and again in my mind. As an Artist he think that he have a responsibility for the society where he lives. He always wish that he should deliver some message through his paintings to the audience. He is very much interested in cultural concerns in his works. He always try to portray the flavour of my Country to the World through his paintings. Self expression is very important to him. What he think and delivering that exact thinking on the canvas is really challenging. Sometimes it is very difficult and sometimes it comes spontaneously. He do believe that whatever he paints it should be simple and can be widely understood by a large portion of the audience. The painting should be soothing to the eyes.

  • Kolkata Street, Acrylic on Canvas by Contemporary Indian Artist "In Stock"
    By Dilip Chaudhury
    Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Dilip Chaudhury - Kolkata Street - 30 x 40 inches (unframed size) Acrylic on canvas Inclusive of shipment in roll form. Style : Dilip Chaudhury's works depict the Bengali countryside and his hometown Kolkata bathed in the monsoon rains. His black and white works are ever popular though of late he has been dabbling in colour. Dilip Chaudhury has been painting various scenes from everyday life of Calcutta & sometimes Banaras, in watercolour. From ancient monuments, streets & ghats, to a rickshaw puller in action, he is captured it all, beautifully. To somebody who has even a remote connection with Calcutta, he manages to bring a wave of nostalgia, as he symbolizes the character of the city of joy in his work. Like a true artist who has not been afraid of trying his hand at almost every subject and medium under the sun, Dilip has metamorphosed into a sought – after artist with a niche skill of creating above all, subjects of abundant beauty and character with a strong sense of perspective. A touch of red in his paintings symbolises optimism. Dilip has executed truly riveting canvasses, each of which has a unique story to narrate. They are not flat but have grandeur, movement, people and therefore, life infused into them. Sometimes Dilip uses his imagination to highlight the simple rickshaw puller of Kolkata. He creates stylistic compositions from unusual angles, which succeed in enthralling the viewer. About the Artist & his works : Born : Kolkata, West Bengal. Educational Qualifications : 1986 : Fine Arts Graduate from Indian Art College, Kolkata, 1st Class First with gold medal Art Appreciation Course from Information Centre, Kolkata, West Bengal. Solo Exhibitions : Birla academy All India Young faces, Kolkata Group Exhibitions : 2010 : Pink Ginger Art Gallery at the Jehangir Art Gallery Awards / Honours : 1993 : Award for best water...

  • Mirror Couple, Acrylic on Canvas, Painting, Red, Green, Blue Colors "In Stock"
    By Farhad Hussain
    Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Farhad Hussain - Mirror Couple : 36 x 48 inches (unframed size) Acrylic on Canvas Inclusive of shipment in roll form. Style : Farhad Hussain's colourful work that includes drawings and watercolours besides paintings on canvas, features day to day visual experiences of the middle class urban India. He endows his narrative with an iconography and personality through his figuration, their posturing, dress and the surrounding imagery. The drama of subtle complexities of human relationships and social environment are grounded with a sense of satire mixed with pathos. Farhad’s colours help enhance the brightness and aura of his paintings while he also partakes elements from traditions such as the formulaic textile patterns of Indian miniatures. His compositions are often set in a familiar drawing room or a social space, playing out with humour and sarcasm, the narrative psychologies of human life and encounters at various levels. This young artist who has also experimented with sculpture, has already carved a niche and an instantly recognizable individualistic style befitting his aesthetics and concerns. Farhad has chosen to use tempera on cloth for his works, the media allowing him to achieve the desired vibrancy of colours. A slow build-up of images and spontaneous flow of colour while balancing colour and composition simultaneously follow structured formatting. This meticulous planning in the composition and layout is the beginning of a process from where onwards it is very spontaneous and intuitive. Another technique used through out Farhad’s work is the method of applying colour: dot-by-dot till the entire area is completely covered. Various elements from miniature paintings, Kalighat paintings, Japanese prints and images from mass media are scrutinized, transformed and transferred on to the surface through the artists own style of expression. About the Artist and his works : Born : 1975 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Education : 2003 : B.F.A. in painting from Kala Bhavan, Visva Bharati University, Shantiniketan, 2005 : M.F.A. in painting from M.S. University, Baroda.
