About the Item
Examining with interest this "Sacred Scene" from the end of the 1500s/beginning of the 17th century (oil painting on canvas, 32 x 26 cm without frame and 40 x 33 cm with frame) representing the Madonna supporting the Infant Jesus on her knees, S. Giovannino with the lamb of god, I can say that it is a Cremona school close to the Panfilo Nuvolone.
The figures are arranged against the background of a generic colorful landscape, fresh and with a great perspective which makes the painting, albeit small, lovable and fresh. The domestic familiarity with which this scene is presented is expressed by a loving language and a calibrated expository cadence, adhering to the Lombard classicist current of the second decade ( maximum ) of the seventeenth century.
This work shines for its formal rigor mixed with a nonchalant ease of execution; sharp and varied cues, loving and delicate gestures emerge clearly on the canvas thanks to skilful luminous contrasts and the development of the canvas, calm and cordial in the form but strong and disruptive in the colors and in the strength of love as can be seen in the gaze deeply imbued with love of the Madonna for the child and for the sweetness of the emotional, empathetic and physical exchange of Jesus with San Giovannino and for the tranquility of the lamb on the left.
It should be noted the safe tracing of the brushstrokes, almost drawn and strongly illuminated which reveal a graphic preparation and a cultured and erudite pictorial conduct and with a remarkable skill in knowing how to render the drapery and their movements that make me think of Panfilo Nuvolone (Cremona 1580 - 1630).
The paintings and works of art published here are my exclusive property and therefore are always available to be viewed, by appointment, in my exhibition sites located in Sanremo and Brescia.

- Il Concerto di PianoforteBy Vittorio ReggianiniLocated in Missouri, MOVittorio Reggianini (Italian, 1858-1938) Il Concerto di Pianoforte Signed Lower Right 28 x 39.5 inches 35 x 47 inches with frame Vittorio Reggianini specialized in genre subjects including elegant scenes of bourgeois life, figure compositions particularly women's heads and child studies as well as more humble interiors with peasants. Reggianini combined fantasy with reality, sensuality with sensibility and above all, like many of the Florentine historical genre painters furnished his costume pieces in luxury. Reggianini was born in Modena, north Italy, in 1853. He studied at the Modena Academy of Fine Arts where he later became a professor. Like many of his contemporaries, Reggianini migrated south, to Florence, where in 1900 he participated in the Alinari Corcorso with a painting entitled Tristis Matris Nati Presaga Finis.
